CHILDREN'S MINISTRY Training the Next Generation One need only to look to Jesus and the Gospels to see the value He places on children. Despite the enormous demands placed on Him, Jesus consistently prioritized children and took the time to welcome them into His presence. Over the years, we have seen children be reached with the gospel, develop through church-based programs, and now serve as adults in their local churches. Through weekly Sunday school programs and periodic Vacation Bible Schools, we see hundreds of children impacted through the ministry of the Word of God.

Church Development Achieve Guyana operates with the belief that the church is the center of all that God is doing in the world today. The church is His beloved bride and the object of His love. As such, the local church is the focus of Achieve Guyana. Christ's testimony is that He loved the church and gave Himself for it. We too, love the church and devote our efforts and resources to planting healthy, reproducing churches. The bulk of our time in church development is spent identifying, developing, and deploying leaders. The ministry strategy is: 1.) Multiplying disciples 2.) Developing biblically qualified pastors 3.) Advancing the knowledge and skills of leaders within the local church.

Commissioning More Workers "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" Isaiah's question is still valid, who will go for the Lord ? We are thankful for those willing hearts still tender to God who will say, "Here am I; I send me." We had the privilege to hold a special commissioning service in our Whitewater church to commission more than 20 to the gospel ministry. These men and women will fill important shoes in the work rema Dr. Greg Mann Jan 18 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations , baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Short-term Missions One of the most impactful ways to support Achieve Guyana is through Short-term Missions. Over the years, we have hosted groups and individuals from churches in the US and Canada. The impact of these efforts are impossible to quantify. Short-term missionaries serving beside us have provided dental and medical care, construction of churches and homes, staffing for Vacation Bible Schools and youth camps, theological and ministry training for our pastors, instruction in agriculture technology, and evangelistic crusades. God has used these ministry experiences to call out missionaries and other vocational ministry workers to go around the world. Additionally, short-term mission efforts breathe new life and expand the vision of local churches that participate. Why not ask God to use your experience and skills to advance His work in Guyana?

OUR HISTORY July 1999 Greg and Wendy Mann visited Guyana for the first time during a survey trip, receiving confirmation that ministry in Guyana was their God-given calling. February 2002 The Manns received their Guyanese work permits. Eighteen days after arriving to Guyana, their veteran co-worker was severely injured, forcing Greg to take leadership of two previously established churches. June 2002 Greg and Wendy began the first outreach to Falls Top, later becoming Trinity Baptist Church. September 2002 Greg Mann begins training six Guyanese men to serve as leaders of the local churches. December 2002 The first two converts were baptized at Falls Top. September 2003 The first outreach to Hobadiah began, leading to the formation of Heritage Baptist Church. March 2005 The first outreach to Whitewater Village began, leading to the formation of Faith Baptist Church. Regular outreach also begins in the villages of Aruka Head and Hotiquai. November 2005 The first outreach to Yarakita began, leading to the formation of Liberty Baptist Church. April 2006 God placed the old sawmill property at Hosororo Village on Greg's heart as a future ministry location. October 2006 Dental clinic held in Sebai - the first major humanitarian project for the ministry. Carib Jesus Film Project is launched in cooperation with Wycliffe and Campus Crusade. November 2007 With the help of First Baptist Church of Georgetown and Pastor Everard Cadogan, the ministry was able to hold its first wedding with five couples tying the knot. This offered hope to many as laws made legal marriages difficult in the remote areas of region one of Guyana. May 2009 Greg, Wendy, and the three boys move to Jacksonville, Florida, United States. 2009-2019 Greg led more than one hundred people - mostly teens and young adults - on strategic short-term missions trips to Guyana, conducting evangelistic crusades, vacation Bible schools, youth camps, agriculture and building projects, community outreach and leadership training. Hundreds were led to Chrust and baptized during this period. 2018 Old sawmill property in Hosororo Village is acquired, bringing a fourteen-year vision into sharper focus. The property was developed to house a church, training center, staff housing, an athletic field, volleyball courts, cabins and a kitchen. The hub of Grace Ministries?? May 2020 With the help of churches and believers int eh United States and the Caribbean, a major Covid-19 relief outreach was launched, providing basic food supplies to people in eight villages and daily devotionals through the WhatsApp messaging service. 2022 ACHIEVE Guyana begins its bi-weekly, two day leadership development program, training local pastors and ministry leaders using the Timothy Initiative. August 2001 Greg, Wendy, and their three sons, Joshua, Josiah and John moved to Guyana. Shortly after arriving, they learned that their work permit was denied, forcing them to return temporarily to the United States. May 2002 Greg and Wendy began the first outreach to Sebai, later becoming Grace Baptist Church. August 2002 Paul Joseph received Christ at Grace Baptist Church in Sebai; His wife recieved Christ two weeks later in another village. Paul later became the pastor of Grace Baptist Church. October 2002 Paul and Gladys were baptized at Sebai, becoming the first two converts baptized at Grace Baptist Church. March 2003 Paul was licensed as a minister of the Gospel, becoming the first in the ministry. January 2005 Due to village politics, Grace Baptist Church's land in Sebai, designated to become a youth camp, was taken from the ministry. This action would shut down the plans for a youth camp for many years to come, but not forever. August 2005 Bible Institute was given the name, "Pastors College." In addition to teaching standard courses, Greg met separately with four men to train them in preaching and pastoral ministry. These men would begin to share the responsibility of ministry in several established village churches. February 2006 First outreach to Kumwatta Village began, leading to the formation of Amazing Grace Baptist Church. May 2006 First outreach to Blackwater began, leading to the formation of Shining Light Baptist Church. August 2007 With the help of the Manns' home church, Grace Baptist Church, and Pastor Roger Green, Grace Ministries ordained its first four men - Paul Joseph, Andrew Henry, Romel Morales, and Norbert Thom - to the gospel ministry. March 2008 The building was completed and dedicated, and the first service was held at Antioch Baptist Church in Canal Bank. October 2009 Carib Jesus Film Project completed and the first showing is completed in Falls Top - this would become the first significant gospel outreach in the Carib language. July 2018 The first Linked Youth Camp was held in Whitewater Village. Teenagers came from six villages. Twenty nine individuals were saved and nine were baptized during the camp week. The youth camp in Whitewater revived the dream and vision of Greg from nearly twenty years prior: to create a gospel movement among the youth of Guyana. 2019 The first outreach to Anna Bissi Creek - home of the Warau speaking Indians - began. 2021 Grace Ministries starts a non-profit called, "ACHIEVE Guyana," an acronym meaning, "A Church in Every Village."

Community Outreach We believe that God's love can and should be demonstrated in every aspect of life. Scripture admonishes us to not only love in word, but to also love in deed. God has opened many doors for Achieve to pour God's love into our communities, with activities such as: adult literacy support, addressing food insecurity, offering a free dental clinic, reading glasses, tutoring in local schools, donating supplies for local schools and teachers. Achieve stands by, ready to address needs as God provides the resources and people.
- Our Story | Achieveguyana Org
OUR STORY Where We Began Achieve Guyana, as a ministry was first planted in July, 1999. God led Greg and Wendy Mann to visit Region 1, and while on a boat trip, they knew what God wanted them to do. From humble beginnings, God's blessing has been evident in this work. More than a thousand souls have come to Christ, hundreds of believers have been baptized, discipled, and have joined local village churches. Pastors and other leaders have been trained to do the work of God in more than 15 villages. Achieve Guyana is a testimony of God's faithfulness. Where We Are Now Today, the ministry has more than 40 pastors, teachers, and leaders serving on a weekly basis. Achieve sees itself as a city set on a hill. God's love is declared through the ministry of the Word and through community projects where people can see, feel, and experience the gospel.
