A Picture of What Could Be
Spanish Language Outreach
In May, our ministry hosted missionary Russ Turner. Russ has served for decades in the Spanish speaking world and is well equipped to help us among our Spanish speaking people. Those that follow our ministry closely know that for years we have asked for prayer concerning these people living within reach of our ministry. We were able to see a picture of what could be. Through his short stay with us, 28 Spanish speaking people gave their life to Christ and followed the Lord in believers baptism! Imagine if these dear people had a Spanish speaking pastor to care for their souls. Please pray.
Most Fruit VBS Season Ever!
We just completed our season of Vacation Bible Schools, and it was the best ever. We were assisted by teams from Iowa and 2 from Florida. These teams along with our faithful leadership ministered to over 900 children from about 17 villages. These teams that ministered with us could tell you that it was hard and tiring work. Many miles were logged along the primitive roads and remote rivers. It was worth every mile we traveled as we saw more than 180 children received the Lord as their Savior! As I observed the work of the American teams partnering with our local leadership, I couldn’t help but think that this is what a healthy missionary partnership looks like. Thank you to all who gave, prayed, and served – your efforts made a big difference and opened new doors for us.
Investing in Youth
Faithful supporters, both churches and individuals recently gave to help us build a youth center at our Riverside Church. We were challenged by adverse weather and big cost overruns, but through it all the building was completed in God’s perfect timing. The morning after the last concrete was poured for the floor, the building was already being used to minister to children. We now have a much greater capacity to minister to children and youth, as well as a variety of other ministry opportunities. Once again, our ministry partners proved once again that when God leads God will supply. Thank you to the churches and individuals that gave toward this project, your investment will pay dividends on into eternity.
Work Permit Approved!
We are appreciative to those who prayed for Greg and Wendy, and the approval of their work permit to remain in Guyana. Since April it has been a real burden to travel in and out of Guyana while the process played out. Approval has finally been granted, and they will have legal status until June of 2027. Thank you especially to those who called, texted or emailed your support. This was a very challenging season. Once again, the prayers and encouragement coming from ministry partners made a great difference!
