Preaching the unsearchable riches of Christ!

Commissioning More Workers
"Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?"
Isaiah's question is still valid, who will go for the Lord? We are thankful for those willing hearts still tender to God who will say, "Here am I; I send me." We had the privilege to hold a special commissioning service in our Whitewater church to commission more than 20 to the gospel ministry. These men and women will fill important shoes in the work remaining to be done.
The Only Hope Is Jesus
In my more than 36 years of ministry, I don't know of any more painful and heart wrenching time than the death and funeral of a baby. At our Riverside church we stood beside a young family as they said their last good-byes to a child not yet 2 years old. The hope, the resurrection, and the power of the gospel is the only good news amidst the sorrow. Thank God for a believing mom and dad who will see their little one again!
The Success of Missions
People might define success in many ways, but in our world success is when we hand off the work to the men we have nurtured and trained. As many of you know, Romel grew up around our family like a 4th son. He has been with us for more than 26 years. Two weeks before Christmas we were thrilled to install him as the new Pastor of Riverside Community Baptist Church! This handoff has been carefully guided for more than a year now. The people already look up to him as a spiritual leader. The church is thriving and we pray Pastor Romel will grow along with the congregation as he takes on this great responsibility - at our largest village church.
We are thankful for those who come from hours away in dugout canoes, but we are also thankful for our generous supporters who provided a new church boat for the Riverside ministry. The new boat will allow us to bring in 30-40 people. The dugout, seen below, is still a faithful mode of transportation to carry more than 30.
2025 Was Another Great Year!
As we leave 2025 behind us and march boldly into 2026, Achieve Guyana has reason to celebrate and hope for a great year ahead. We had at least 342 professions of faith where people who were lost, and separated from God, trusted in the power of Christ and His gospel to give them eternal life. 65 people obediently followed the Lord in believer's baptism. Many of our pastors and leaders have been with us for decades. God has shined His favor upon us. Thank you for praying and thank you for generously supporting God's work in Guyana.
